Texas & New Mexico Certificate of Convenience and Necessity Filing 2023

Planning Today for Tomorrow’s Power

Committed to delivering the essential energy our Southwest customer depend on — not only to power their lives and businesses, but also to support the local economy.

Xcel Energy’s Certificate of Convenience of Necessity (or CCN), filed in both Texas and New Mexico, identifies the most cost-effective answer to growing demand for reliable, affordable electricity. This CCN filing proposes resources to meet needed electric generation capacity, fuel diversity, and critical dispatchable energy that can ramp up and down to follow fluctuations in customer demand and renewable energy production.

Energy Saving Tip

Rather than crank up your heat in the winter, keep your thermostat at a moderate level and bundle up. (Who doesn't love fuzzy slippers?)

Break Ground, Not the Law

Always call 811 before digging in your yard to avoid hitting buried gas or electric lines. Not only is it the safe thing to do, but it's the law.
