Taking a Closer Look at Your Energy Bill

In Colorado, our electricity rates continue to stay below the national average. Since 2012 and through 2017, we have multi-year rate plans which help customers with price predictability. Our most recent multi-year electric rate plan kept prices affordable, while allowing for a series of smart investments. The end result? Cleaner air, a better environment, and a more resilient, flexible energy system that will deliver value to customers for decades to come:

  • Our modernization efforts are creating significant clean air benefits across the state. As a result of our strategy to retire, convert and retrofit plants, we are on track to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 35 percent from 2005 levels.
  • We are a nationally recognized renewable energy provider. In fact, 22 percent of the energy we deliver to Colorado customers is carbon-free, coming from wind, solar, hydroelectricity and biomass. That is more than double what it was in 2005—and we have plans to continue adding more.
  • We have made significant technology improvements on our Colorado system, including transmission, distribution and communications systems that enhance our reliability and service to you and make it possible to offer new products that our customers have been asking for.
