Customer Support

Lighting Efficiency for Trade Partners

Increase your sales of energy-saving lighting equipment with assistance from our Lighting Efficiency program. Our customers can earn rebates on a wide range of lighting efficiency projects including retrofits on existing systems, new building installations, custom applications and lighting redesign studies.

Customers can use our rebates to offset the cost of their lighting efficiency projects and speed up their payback. Help them reduce energy use while they increase the lighting quality in their business.

Benefits

  • Boost your revenues of energy-saving lighting equipment
  • Increase the chance of selling high-end equipment earning higher margins
  • Help your customers save on monthly energy costs and offset the cost of higher-efficiency lighting, making it more affordable
  • Improve a facility or office’s lighting quality which can lead to healthier, happier and more productive employees
  • Redesign lighting to maximize the effectiveness of new, more efficient equipment

Customers can choose from five ways to lower their lighting costs and earn rebates:

  1. Lighting retrofit rebates – Available for existing facilities of any size, these rebates offset the cost of installing new, more efficient lighting than what customers currently have.
  2. New construction lighting rebates – Available for new facilities or those going through major renovations, we reward customers for choosing more efficient lighting than standard options
  3. Custom Efficiency lighting rebates – Available for energy-saving lighting projects not included in our prescriptive rebate program. Requires preapproval before equipment purchase and installation
  4. Lighting redesign studies and rebates – Can help determine the proper lighting levels for customers’ space. We help fund studies and offer cash rebates of up to $400 per kW saved when customers make recommended changes. Requires preapproval.
  5. One-Stop Efficiency Shop – The One-Stop Efficiency Shop offers special rebates and services for small and mid-sized businesses with facility electric demand of 400 kW or less. To verify your customer qualifies and to get started on your project, contact the One-Stop Efficiency Shop administered by the Center for Energy and Environment at 612-244-2427 or by email.

Energy Saving Tip

Make sure to regularly change the air filters on your HVAC system (at least once per month). Old, clogged filters are far less efficient than new ones.
