Sign up for wind-sourced energy to power your home

Windsource® allows customers to get more or all of their energy from renewable resources, and it costs less than the price of a latte.

As one of the nation's largest voluntary renewable energy programs, Windsource is an easy, inexpensive way to make a difference. Thanks to Windsource customers, the amount of renewable energy we produce today is above and beyond government requirements and continues to grow.

Your Windsource subscription is added right to your Xcel Energy bill, making it easy to go green. Our program is certified by Green-e Energy and regulated by the Public Utilities Commission.

Pricing Information

Windsource subscriptions are available in 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh) blocks for the small additional premium of $1.50 per block. Starting with one block, Windsource adds $0.0150/kWh to your energy cost. For an average home using 800 kWh in a month, that would total just $12/month to be 100% Windsource-powered. Peace of mind from clean energy is affordable and easy.

As an added perk, we've partnered with Chinook Book to provide all Windsource customers with a set of free, money-saving coupons from local wind-powered businesses. Once you enroll, you will receive a link to access the free mobile coupons.

Energy Saving Tip

Rather than crank up your heat in the winter, keep your thermostat at a moderate level and bundle up. (Who doesn't love fuzzy slippers?)

Break Ground, Not the Law

Always call 811 before digging in your yard to avoid hitting buried gas or electric lines. Not only is it the safe thing to do, but it's the law.
