Outage update for Southeastern Minnesota Customers Learn More
When there is damage after an outage, it is important to recognize what we at Xcel Energy are responsible for, and what you as a customer are responsible for. The mast, a pipe-like housing that connects service wires to your meter, is one piece of equipment that is considered customer-owned.
The mast will either be on your roof or on the side of your home.

If your mast has been damaged during a storm, you will need to contact an electrician for repairs before we can reconnect service. It is possible that we may be able to provide a temporary connection until your electrician can come out to fix it. Please note that your city may require an inspection.
Heat or cool a smaller area by closing vents in rooms that are not in use. You’ll stay more comfortable when you're managing less air space.
Always call 811 before digging in your yard to avoid hitting buried gas or electric lines. Not only is it the safe thing to do, but it's the law.
