Renewable Energy Claims

Are you participating in a clean energy program?

Whether you are a business or residential customer, participating in renewable energy is a great first step to contributing toward a clean-energy future. When you participate in a renewable energy program, whether it’s through your own equipment or a subscription, renewable energy certificates or credits (RECs) are important to the owner of the REC.

REC guidelines and regulations are supported by us, your utility provider, and several levels of government, including the Federal Trade Commission and the state Office of the Attorney General.

Depending on the type of program associated with the wind or solar generation, you may or may not own the REC, and we would like to guide you to ensure you’re following REC claim statement rules.

Energy Saving Tip

Make sure to regularly change the air filters on your HVAC system (at least once per month). Old, clogged filters are far less efficient than new ones.

Break Ground, Not the Law

Always call 811 before digging in your yard to avoid hitting buried gas or electric lines. Not only is it the safe thing to do, but it's the law.
