Lancaster to Fort Lupton Natural Gas Pipeline Project

Project Overview

Xcel Energy plans to construct and operate the Lancaster to Fort Lupton Natural Gas Pipeline Project. The project will include approximately 4.1 miles of new, 24-inch-diameter natural gas pipeline between a new gas regulator station at the existing Kerr-McGee Gathering, LLC's Lancaster Gas Processing Plant Anadarko Lancaster Gathering Facility and the existing Xcel Energy Fort Lupton Metering Station in Weld County, Colorado.

Project Benefits

The new pipeline will strengthen our ability to continue to reliably and safely serve Xcel Energy’s current and future customers.

Please note that the project schedule is subject to change.

Public Outreach

One of our goals on the project is to ensure that we maintain consistent communication with our stakeholders – elected officials, government agencies, and property owners.

On Thursday, January 26, 2017, the project team hosted a public open house at Fort Lupton Public and School Library, 425 S. Denver Ave., Fort Lupton, CO 80621.

At the public open house, we provided a project overview, purpose and need of the project, preferred pipeline and alternative alignments, current project status, contact information, and the opportunity to submit comments or concerns.

The materials presented at the public open house are included below:

Public safety is at the foundation of all we do. As we construct, operate, and maintain our natural gas system, safety is our number one priority. The safety of the public and our employees influences every decision we make, from project inception to completion.

Energy Saving Tip

Make sure to regularly change the air filters on your HVAC system (at least once per month). Old, clogged filters are far less efficient than new ones.

May is National Electric Safety Month

Before beginning an outdoor project, be aware of overhead electric lines and keep yourself, your ladders and tools at least 10 feet away from them.
