Xcel Energy is committed to delivering safe, affordable energy using environmentally responsible practices and renewable resources. The Solar*Rewards program helps to make installing solar panels on your home or business more affordable. When you install solar panels on your home or business, you help protect the environment.
Since 2006, Solar*Rewards has paid over $293 million in incentives to Colorado customers. We’ve helped to install more than 18,200 PV systems. More than 185 MW of solar has been installed in Colorado through the Solar*Rewards program. If you’re interested in installing a PV system at your home or business, the Solar*Rewards program is here to help.
Applying for solar incentives through Solar*Rewards is simple. Our standard incentives are based on the size of the PV system you decide to install. Visit our application website and follow the step-by-step instructions listed below for each program segment to get started with your Solar*Rewards application.
The charts below reflect the current incentive levels and availability for the Solar*Rewards program in Colorado. Incentives are paid to the owner of the PV system based on the amount of energy the PV system produces (¢ per kWh). These charts are updated daily to reflect the MW availability remaining at each incentive level (“Step”).

Thanks to the partnership with the solar installer community and our customers, we've reserved all capacity in Step 4 of the medium program segment. Beginning October 11, 2013, Solar*Rewards will no longer be accepting new applications through the medium program. The medium program segment will reopen in 2014 with new available capacity, pending the Colorado Public Utility Commission (Colorado PUC) approval of the 2014 RES Compliance Plan.
Below is a link to the most recent monthly report containing information about installed capacity and program spend.

Our products and services differ based on state. Please select your state (or the state you're interested in) from the list to the left.
Why do our products and services differ based on state? Because our business is regulated by state. We have regulated operations in eight Western and Midwestern states. The different regulatory body for each state we serve determines what products and services we deliver in that state.
