Energy Management Systems for Trade Partners

Help your business customers upgrade or install new efficiency controls and earn rebates with our Energy Management System (EMS) program. Installing a new system where none existed, replacing a non-functioning one or adding capabilities to an existing system can earn a rebate and reduce your customer’s energy usage, making their building controls more efficient. Preapproval is required before equipment is purchased and installed.

  • Boost your revenues
  • Increase the chance of selling high-end equipment earning higher margins
  • Help your customers integrate equipment monitoring and control and centralize building system operations
  • Help your customers enhance their tenants’ comfort, increase customer satisfaction and reduce nuisance calls
  • Install systems that cut energy waste and reduce operating expenses

  • All EMS projects require preapproval. Please remind your customers to get preapproval from us before taking any steps to purchase new equipment or systems. To qualify for a rebate, the preapproval date must come before any/all:
    • Purchase order dates
    • Equipment order dates
    • Equipment ship dates
    • Invoice dates
  • The program pays up to $600 per kW, derived from kWh savings.
  • Rebates cannot exceed 60 percent of the incremental cost.

How to Get Started

  1. Clients must receive preapproval prior to taking any steps to purchase or install new equipment or systems.
  2. Complete the Application and Worksheet form. The customer must sign the form. Project costs must include all distributor/contractor/subcontractor costs that are invoiced to the customer.
  3. Attach a copy of your proposal to the customer or statement of work to the customer.
  4. Submit all the materials per the rules and requirements. You may attach any additional information you would like us to consider.

Response times vary with the complexity of the project and the completeness of the application. Thorough and accurate applications have the shortest response times, as well as the best rebates.

We strive to respond to EMS applications within 10 business days. More time is sometimes required, especially if we have follow-up questions for the customer or trade partner.

For qualifying projects, we will issue a letter, addressed to the customer that shows the exact rebate amount for the project (if implemented with the scope described in the application).

Energy Saving Tip

Set your hot water heater to no higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This isn't just energy smart—it's also safer, since it reduces the likelihood of accidental burns.

May is National Electric Safety Month

Before beginning an outdoor project, be aware of overhead electric lines and keep yourself, your ladders and tools at least 10 feet away from them.
