Customer Support

Business New Construction for Trade Partners

Our Business New Construction program offers energy expertise to encourage energy efficiency in building design and construction, as well as design assistance supporting an integrated design process that provides various services depending on customer needs.

We offer unique programs designed to fit the specific needs of builders, contractors and architects, including:

  • Energy Design Assistance (EDA) - a custom whole-building integrated, modeling approach for buildings greater than 20,000 square feet.
  • Energy Efficient Buildings (EEB) – a prescriptive whole-building calculator approach geared to buildings 50,000 square feet or less.

Benefit from our assistance in the evaluation of energy efficiency options for new construction and major renovation projects.

The Business New Construction programs are meant to meet your client’s needs no matter where they are in the design process. Your clients can:

  • Shorten payback and save up-front capital to offset the cost of more efficient equipment.
  • Earn significant long-term energy savings and increase your return on investment helping your bottom line.
  • Reduce maintenance and replacement costs improving the productive life of equipment.

Design Team Reimbursement

In addition to free modeling and design assistance, as part of Energy Design Assistance, we also offer design team funding for participation in the program on behalf of the owner. Typically the owner or architect receives reimbursement and then pays the engineering firm(s) on the team.

To take advantage of the design team reimbursement, complete the Design Team Reimbursement Form in the “How to Get Started” section and send along with detailed invoices to us, once all the steps have been completed by the design team.

How to Get Started

Complete the Energy Design Assistance (EDA) Application or the Energy Efficient Buildings (EEB) Application and Agreement for your client and send to us per instructions on the application form.

Energy Saving Tip

Set your hot water heater to no higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This isn't just energy smart—it's also safer, since it reduces the likelihood of accidental burns.

May is National Electric Safety Month

Before beginning an outdoor project, be aware of overhead electric lines and keep yourself, your ladders and tools at least 10 feet away from them.
