Cooling Rebates

Minnesota electric customers can earn up to a $450 rebate for eligible central air conditioners.

Rebates lower the initial cost of high-efficiency equipment, which costs less to operate and is better for the environment.

How to Get Started

  1. Review our program materials located in the Additional Information section below.

  2. Contact a participating contractor to purchase a new high-efficiency cooling unit. The contractor should have the full application.

  3. Verify the installing contractor tests the unit by starting it up and submits the paperwork to Xcel Energy.

Eligibility & Details

Xcel electric customers are eligible. Testing is only possible if the outside temperature is 55 degrees or higher, and rebates will not be paid until contractors have tested the unit. Please keep in mind that you may not receive your rebate until spring if you have your unit installed in the late fall or winter.

Eligible Minnesota residents can receive up to $450 in rebates.

Energy Saving Tip

Rather than crank up your heat in the winter, keep your thermostat at a moderate level and bundle up. (Who doesn't love fuzzy slippers?)
