Windsource for Businesses - Pricing Terms and Conditions

Pricing and Billing

The cost of the Windsource® energy you purchase will be based on your actual metered electricity usage. The Windsource rate is currently set at $3.53 per 100 kWh block, less a credit for fuel costs. In 2017, the average fuel cost credit for a C&I Non-Demand customer was $2.60, making the net charge for the Windsource $0.93 per block. If your electricity use is less than your level of Windsource commitment, you will be charged only for what you use.

A Windsource charge will appear as a separate line item on your monthly Xcel Energy bill, charged against the number of Windsource kilowatt-hours (kWh) you purchased.

The Windsource rate is updated periodically, pending approval from the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission.  For more information on your usage or the Windsource rate, contact your account manager, the Business Solutions Center at 1-800-481-4700 or email us at

Energy Saving Tip

Turn off your lights when you leave the room—even if you'll only be gone for a moment. Contemporary light bulbs require very little energy to turn "on."
