Customer Support

The Pathway Project will support our 2021 Colorado Electric Resource Plan/Clean Energy Plan (external link) and our 2050 carbon vision (external link).

What is a CPCN?

Before beginning any capital investment project, we apply to the Colorado Public Utilities Commission for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity. This regulatory process makes our case for the public benefits of constructing a specific project.

What is the 2021 Electric Resource Plan?

It is our plan to add approximately 5,500 megawatts of generating capacity to our Colorado system. Read the news release and fact sheet (PDF) and watch the Feb. 24 event video to learn more.

What is transmission?

It’s the backbone of the system that delivers electricity to you by moving large amounts of energy at high voltages across long distances. Transmission lines link that energy production to customers across Colorado, keeping the grid reliable. Get the facts about transmission (external link).

Energy Saving Tip

Make sure to regularly change the air filters on your HVAC system (at least once per month). Old, clogged filters are far less efficient than new ones.

Break Ground, Not the Law

Always call 811 before digging in your yard to avoid hitting buried gas or electric lines. Not only is it the safe thing to do, but it's the law.
