Across our service territories, we have employees and contractors in the field performing the work necessary to ensure the safe, reliable gas and electric service. It is important to us that you are able to verify that an employee or contractor is authorized to do work in your area.
If someone on your property claims to be working for Xcel Energy, ask to see company identification—regardless of the work being performed. All Xcel Energy employees and most contractors who perform work for us carry company ID cards. If someone on your property cannot show you an ID, ask him or her to leave and return only with proper identification.
If you would like to verify that a contractor is authorized by Xcel Energy to do work on your property, please contact our Xcel Energy Customer Care at 1-800-895-4999.

Trimming trees away from power lines that run through your property
Restoration efforts for gas and electric outages
