Stakeholder engagement and trust are key elements to our company's success. We publish this report to share and disclose information important to our stakeholders and to foster better understanding of our business, industry and corporate culture.
Our first corporate responsibility report (formerly known as the Triple Bottom Line report) was published in April 2005, with the contents covering the 2004 calendar year, and we have published a similar report in each following year. For our 2011 report, we changed the reporting format, moving the full report online. Our new, online Corporate Responsibility Report is intended to provide a more user-friendly format, making it easier to access information and data about our company. The facts and figures are supplemented with stories and examples that offer a better view inside our company, management approach and key initiatives.
We know that some stakeholders still prefer the report in a printed format. To meet their needs, we have published a shorter overview report. We will distribute this overview at our annual shareholders meeting and other events. It also is available as a PDF through our corporate responsibility report website.
For many areas of our company, stakeholder engagement is a key part of their work responsibilities. Representatives from these areas comprise our Corporate Responsibility Report working group that helps to develop this report. This past year we polled the working group, as well as other key staff with stakeholder relationships, to identify the most important stakeholder issues and information needs. The input is reflected in the report. Our report also is based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, the most widely used sustainability reporting framework in the world. Additionally, we incorporate the GRI's Electric Utilities Sector Supplement indicators wherever possible. We believe our report meets the requirements of GRI's B application level. An index of our reported GRI indicators is available on this website. More information about GRI and the G3 guidelines is available at globalreporting.org.
