Boiler Efficiency
Save on heating costs and earn rebates
30% rebate bonus on new space heating boilers, modulating burners and outdoor air reset controls
Boiler Efficiency offers rebates when you replace or upgrade your natural gas-fired boiler and auxiliary equipment.
If your heating equipment is more than 10 years old, it could use up to 50 percent more natural gas than new models, and it’s less reliable and can have safety problems.
Efficiency upgrades often pay for themselves in energy savings in just a few years, and the little extra you pay for high efficiency will pay for itself several times over the life of your system.
Our rebates help defray your initial cost of energy-saving improvements, including:
- Burner/burner parts
- Modular burner controls
- Stack dampers
- Steam traps (replacement or repair only)
- Boiler tune-ups

Rules in effect for 2008
- Change in application form and process: As of Jan. 1, 2007, any boiler rebate application that includes energy savings from non-space-heating applications (i.e. domestic water heating, laundry, processes, etc.) needs to go through our Custom Efficiency program. While Custom Efficiency rebates require preapproval prior to purchase and installation, it opens the door for higher rebates based on actual energy savings. (Our current prescriptive rebates only allow for an average boiler savings.)
- Boiler tune-up rebate changes: As of Jan. 1, 2007, customers are eligible for boiler tune-up rebates every other year. (Previously annual tune-ups were eligible.)
- New Boiler Systems >10,000,000 BTU/Hr (10 MMBTUH) must go through our Custom Efficiency program regardless of space heating or process use.
- Prescriptive Boiler Efficiency rebates still are available for boilers and auxiliaries used only for space heating.
