Xcel Energy Services, Inc. Commercial Operations Authorized Trading Personnel and Contacts Commercial Operations is the power marketing and fuels division of Xcel Energy, Inc. The Commercial Operations employees who buy and sell power on behalf of Xcel Energy have diverse backgrounds ranging from engineering, finance and commodities trading to power system operations. Energy traders are located in Denver and trade seven days a week, 24 hours per day.
Commercial Operations can add value to your operation whether you own or operate generation or supply retail load. We can arrange fuel supplies, energy supplies, electric, petroleum and gas transportation, provide financial risk management services, assist in optimizing your operations, and markets for your energy.

- Arranging for the physical delivery of electricity and natural gas at a competitive price to our wholesale and retail customers;
- Contracting for the purchase and delivery of fossil fuels to our generating facilities;
- Optimizing the value of our generation, natural gas pipeline and contracted asset portfolio through strategic real time and forward trading in multiple regional hubs, power exchanges and with multiple counterparties; and
- Effectively managing the significant price and performance risks that have become a fact of life in wholesale markets.
