Economic Development for Minnesota

Promoting and supporting economic development growth requires communication and cooperation to provide the resources, tools, and incentives businesses need to grow. Economic Development works hard to build and maintain successful relationships by providing programs and services to support new projects and expansions and participating in state, regional, and local economic development efforts.

Xcel Energy's contributions to economic development occur on a variety of levels, from state and regional strategic planning initiatives to hands-on assistance for individual businesses. We provide operating funds to a variety of organizations, ranging from regional and local economic development efforts to communities engaged in long-term community planning. In addition, our staff members support community growth by serving on the boards of many of these same organizations.

Our Economic Development Department offers no-cost, confidential assistance to new, relocating and expanding industrial and manufacturing firms in Minnesota.
