Hazardous and Problem Waste Collection

Xcel Energy Disposal Services offers a program to businesses and non-profit organizations for the disposal of hazardous and problem waste. Our Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG) hazardous waste collection program allows eligible participants to transport their own waste to Xcel Energy as a cost-effective alternative to hiring a hazardous waste transporter to pick up small amounts of waste. To qualify for this program, you must generate no more than 220 pounds (approximately 22 gallons) of hazardous waste per month. The types of waste we accept include paint, solvents, thinners, strippers, wood preservatives, oils, aerosols, batteries, chemicals… see complete list.

To participate:

• Complete the Approval Form and Waste Inventory Form
• Mail or fax the forms to: 1518 Chestnut Avenue, Minneapolis, MN, 55403; Phone (612) 630-4516, Fax (612) 630-4597
• Receive a cost estimate
• Call Xcel Energy Disposal Services to schedule a delivery date and time
