Ground Source Heat Pump Rebates by BudgetSmart from Xcel EnergySM help make purchasing a high-efficiency ground source heat pump more affordable with a cash rebate of $150 per ton.
Ground source heat pumps that earn the Energy Star® can use 40-60 percent less energy than a standard ground source heat pump.
Heat pumps may also be eligible for the Backup Relief electric rate option

What equipment is eligible?
* Please verify that the ground source (geothermal) heat pump you install is ENERGY STAR qualified by visiting www.energystar.gov or calling 1-866-STAR-YES.
Who is eligible to participate?
The installation property must be located in Minnesota and receive residential electricity service from Xcel Energy. Equipment must be purchased and installed between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2008, with applications submitted by June 30, 2009.
How do I get a rebate?
Heat pumps are not eligible to participate in any other Xcel Energy rebate program offer. Your rebate will take at least six weeks to process after the application has been submitted. Limit two per household.
