The coverage gives additional peace of mind by providing a fixed replacement reimbursement amount when HomeSmart determines during a service call that the cost of the repair exceeds the value of the appliance and is not worth repairing or when parts are no longer available for the appliance repair.

Most repair plans do not cover major components such as the furnace heat exchanger, refrigerator and central air compressor, water heater tank, and clothes washer transmission. These component failures generally necessitate replacing the appliance.
