Colorado Home Cooling Programs
Xcel EnergySM makes it more affordable to stay cool and comfortable in your home throughout the summer months. Our programs—the Evaporative Cooling Rebate and the new Central AC Tune-up—offer money-saving opportunities that continue to pay off in the future by reducing your electricity usage and saving you money on your energy bills.
Central AC Tune-up
If you have a central air conditioner that’s at least one year old, you may be eligible to participate in our new Central AC Tune-up program. The program is designed to make sure your cooling system is operating as efficiently as possible. Airflow restrictions and improper levels of refrigerant both have an effect on how much energy is used to cool your home. Our participating contractors will test the airflow and refrigerant in your system to identify possible problems. Learn more.
Evaporative Cooling Rebate
If you’re looking to invest in a new cooling system for your home, consider an evaporative cooler (also known as a swamp cooler). Evaporative coolers use 75 percent less energy than central air conditioners and can lower the temperature in your home by up to 30 degrees. We offer up to $500 cash back when you purchase and install a qualifying system. Learn more.
