Wisconsin Energy Assistance

Energy Assistance

Our Wisconsin customers can take advantage of energy assistance programs, including:

Energy Assistance Program

Wisconsin’s Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) provides home heating assistance to eligible households. The program offers assistance to approximately 140,000 households annually.

Heatshare (Fuel Fund)

Heatshare is a voluntary program administered by the Salvation Army. It helps those in need survive long winters by providing funds for heating bills and heating-related repairs.

Who is eligible for Heatshare?

  • Seniors with low fixed incomes and no other source of help
  • People whose physical capabilities or heath problems limit their ability to maintain income to cover energy bills
  • People who have had an unexpected emergency within the last 12 months and cannot pay energy costs.
  • People who meet income guidelines and have received or applied for all other public funds.

Keep WI Warm Fund (Fuel Fund)

This fuel fund is designed to assist low-income households and those just above income guidelines. Customers need to apply for this funding through their local energy assistance program.

For more information on these programs visit www.homeenergyplus.wi.gov or call 1-866-HEATWIS (432-8947).
