SPS 2008 Renewable Generation Resources RFP

Southwestern Public Service Company (“SPS” or “Company”), an operating company subsidiary of Xcel Energy Inc., is issuing this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to diversify its existing renewable energy portfolio. SPS invites proposals from potential suppliers who are capable of meeting the conditions of this RFP. Through this solicitation, SPS is requesting proposals in order to comply with recently enacted regulatory requirements intended to implement the Renewable Energy Act, NMSA 1978 Section 62-16-1, et seq. (“REA”), and to bring significant economic development and environmental benefits to New Mexico. 

SPS is specifically seeking to contract for solar and other/biomass resources and will give preference resources located in New Mexico.  Additional details related to this solicitation can be found in the downloadable documents identified below.
