Cynthia L. Lesher

Loaned Executive to the Republican National Convention

Cynthia (Cyndi) Lesher, president and CEO, Northern States Power Company-Minnesota, an Xcel Energy company has been named president of the Minnesota host committee for the Republican National Convention, which will be held in the Twin Cities Sept 1-4, 2008. Lesher will serve as a loaned executive to the convention organization, working full time on planning and logistics for the months up to and including the event.
She serves on the board of directors of Alliant Techsystems, the American Red Cross of the Twin Cities Area, the Juran Quality Institute at the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, the Saint Paul Foundation and the Saint Paul Riverfront Corporation and she is a member of the Minneapolis Downtown Council.
Lesher earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Drake University, a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling and psychology from St. Cloud State University, and completed the Master of Excellence Program at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management.
