Community Support

At Xcel Energy, we believe that our obligation to the communities we serve goes far beyond providing safe, reliable energy. We want them to be good places to live, work or own a business, in part because our success depends on their strength and vitality. That's why we are committed to using our considerable resources and skills to help meet their social and economic needs.

The Xcel Energy Foundation is the primary source of company contributions, but by no means the only method. Caring for the community involves drawing on all of Xcel Energy's strengths, including financial and material assets, economic development efforts and energetic employee and retiree volunteers. Xcel Energy is deeply committed to helping our service territory grow into a series of interconnected, vibrant, thriving communities. Through our economic development initiatives, grantmaking, by investing in affordable housing, by purchasing from diverse suppliers, donating goods and services to those in need, partnering with local government to provide low-income energy assistance and through our employee and retiree generosity, we help make our communities more desirable places to live, work, or own a business.
