Individual Performance and Development (IPAD) 

We believe day-to-day performance is managed most effectively through an ongoing conversation between the employee and his or her manager about job expectations and performance. All non-bargaining employees at Xcel Energy have an individual performance and development plan or (IPAD). IPAD is the tool that guides the ongoing conversation. IPADs include:

  • The essential job responsibilities and competencies for the position
  • Annual individual performance goals tied to business priorities and job functions
  • Individual accomplishments towards those goals
  • Annual individual development goals and results

This interactive partnership with their leaders enables employees to develop work goals aligned with business priorities and personal development plans that help them meet those goals.
