Xcel Energy recognized for corporate citizenship
MINNEAPOLIS - Xcel Energy has been named one of the “100 Best Corporate Citizens” for 2008 by Corporate Responsibility Officer Magazine (CRO).
Xcel Energy is ranked 29 on the CRO list. The magazine ranks large-cap, U.S.-headquartered, public companies based on efforts and performance in the areas of climate change, employee relations, environment, financial, governance, human rights, lobbying and philanthropy. According to CRO, climate change and other issues related to the environment receive the greatest weight because of their importance.
The utilities industry was the largest represented sector in “100 Best in 2008,” with 19 utilities among those companies recognized.
CRO compiled the list in partnership with IW Financial, a Maine-based research and consulting firm. This is the ninth annual corporate list published by CRO. To view the complete list and for more information about the rankings, visit www.thecro.com.
