Xcel Energy Foundation announces $191,000 for arts organizations in Denver

Part of $324,700 investment into the arts statewide

DENVER - The Xcel Energy Foundation today announced $191,000 in grants for arts organizations in Denver. The funding is part of an overall $324,700 investment into the arts statewide.

The funding includes a $10,000 grant for the Colorado Children's Chorale, which will support their Conservatory Program. The program provides hands-on choral and performance training in the classroom, or in after-school or summer programs, to at-risk children who have little access to quality arts activities. Through disciplined training, the children learn life skills and values that last a lifetime.

"The arts are an important part of any community," said Pat Vincent, president and CEO, Public Service Co. of Colorado, an Xcel Energy company. "These grants will go to some of the best arts organizations in Colorado and will help promote creativity, culture and inspiration for people across the state. I'm pleased that we're able to support the communities we serve in this important way."
