Community grants awarded by Xcel Energy
MINNEAPOLIS - Xcel Energy Foundation has announced the recipients of “Building Stronger Communities” grants totaling $1.4 million across the company’s 11-state service territory. The annual grants support affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization and programs that promote economic self-sufficiency.
Grants to organizations in the Twin Cities include:

$125,000 to The Salvation Army for HeatShare, a heating fuel fund dedicated to providing energy assistance to low-income Minnesota families.

$20,000 to the American Indian Neighborhood Development Corporation for community development work along East Franklin Avenue in the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis.

$25,000 to CommonBond Communities for housing and on-site services to low-income families, children and elderly residents.

$40,000 to support home ownership programs offered by the Greater Minneapolis Metropolitan Housing Corporation of the Twin Cities.

$5,000 to WomenVenture for the Expect Success Program, a personalized workforce development program.
Xcel Energy, its employees and retirees support non-profit organizations in their communities through grants, matching gifts and volunteer initiatives.
