Jaeger to oversee Xcel Energy transmission systems
MINNEAPOLIS - Doug Jaeger has been named vice president of transmission at Xcel Energy. He succeeds Mary Fisher, who recently was named vice president of Colorado Resource Development.
Jaeger, of Champlin, Minn., joined the company in 2000. In his most recent post as vice president of business operations, Jaeger was responsible for various operations including natural gas delivery, outdoor lighting and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Xcel Energy, Jaeger held positions as director of market development at Exelon Corp. and director of sales at Honeywell.
In his new job, Jaeger will oversee Xcel Energy’s transmission systems, which serve 3.3 million electricity customers in 11 Western and Midwestern states.
“Xcel Energy has been working with other utilities, state and federal regulators and regional reliability and transmission organizations to chart a course for a secure energy future in our service territories,” said Pat Vincent, Xcel Energy’s president of customer and field operations. “Significant progress has been made since late last year. We plan to build on that foundation under Doug’s leadership.”
In addition to his transmission duties, Jaeger will continue managing safety programs for Xcel Energy’s 6,700 employees who work in transmission, distribution and customer operations.
Jaeger holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis and a bachelor’s degree in business management from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn.
