Utility Innovations Visitor Center
Denver, Colorado
The Xcel Energy Utility Innovations Visitor Center provides a showcase for innovation and leadership in the industry. The Utility Innovations program, launched in 2003, is a multi-business effort aimed at integrating research, development, calculated risk-taking, and collaboration into the utility business. Much like innovation itself, the Visitor Center has been designed to be dynamic and constantly changing. Located in the lobby of Xcel Energy’s Technical Services Building in downtown Denver, the Visitor Center features interactive displays designed to represent various parts of the power grid, from generation and distribution, to transmission and consumption. Each station features touch-screen monitors where visitors can choose to learn more about the specific projects that most interest them. Additionally, visitors can explore the history of Utility Innovations and the various partners involved in its initiatives.
