Renewable Energy Trust

Help Colorado non-profit organizations and communities by making a tax-deductible donation that supports renewable energy projects through the Renewable Energy Trust (RET). It’s an easy way to help non-profits, your community and the environment.

Anyone can donate to the fund. To add an ongoing donation to your Xcel Energy bill, please call 1-800-895-4999. You can also make a one-time donation online through the Denver Foundation (be sure to choose Xcel Energy Renewable Energy Trust).

Nonprofits and local communities in Colorado can apply for grant money for renewable projects.

• RET funds support solar projects and photovoltaic systems for organizations throughout the state.
• We have awarded over 30 grants since 2002.
• Average award amounts vary between $15,000 - $40,000.

The Denver Foundation administers the RET grant fund. Grant applications are reviewed by the RET Customer Advisory Panel.
