Limited Off-Peak - WI

Limited Off-Peak

Qualified Wisconsin residential customers can save

Overview

Residential customers in Wisconsin can save with our Limited Off-Peak rates. Get a reduced energy rate for specific electric equipment operating at off-peak times daily. If you have equipment that stores electric heat during off-peak periods for use during the next day’s on-peak period, you will benefit most if you use:

  • electric thermal storage heating
  • radiant floor heat
  • electric water heaters

Your discounted rate is nearly half that of the standard residential rate. However, if you choose to run your equipment during on-peak hours, you will pay an added penalty.

Two installed electric meters allow for the standard kWh rate to be tracked on the first meter for regular household appliance usage while the lower rate is tracked on the second meter for specific appliances. There is an additional monthly meter charge for the extra meter.

You must hire a licensed electrician at your own expense to connect appliances to the off-peak meter, install a duplex socket meter and include an automatic control switch. The estimated cost for this installation is about $1,500 - $2,000. We will provide and install the off-peak meter.

Benefits

With Limited Off-Peak, you save on your energy bill if you have qualified equipment that stores electric heat during off-peak hours. If you qualify:

  • You get a special off-peak rate that is nearly half of the standard residential rate.
  • We will provide and install an off-peak meter at no charge (you are required to install other items).

See Qualifying equipment below for details on customer installation requirements.

Rates

Your discounted rate is nearly half that of the standard residential rate. However, if you choose to run your equipment during on-peak hours, you will pay an added penalty (on-peak rate). There is also an additional monthly meter charge (monthly charge).
