Does your home have leaky doors, an old thermostat and inefficient incandescent bulbs? The Home Energy Squad can fix these in one visit–quickly, efficiently and affordably.

During your Home Energy Squad visit experts will work with you to determine which measures will help to make your home more energy efficient. You’ll pay only the $70 trip charge and receive items such as compact fluorescent light bulbs, programmable thermostats, weather stripping and more–and the installation labor is free–a $200 value!

The Home Energy Squad is a partnership between Xcel Energy and CenterPoint Energy.

With your energy savings package, you’ll:

• Receive a quick assessment of your home’s energy efficiency
• Get an in-home visit from local efficiency experts who discuss the home improvements and install the equipment for you
• Immediately begin saving energy and money!

The Home Energy Squad will quickly assess your home’s efficiency and make the energy-saving installations for you–in about two hours or less. When they’re done your home will be more efficient, comfortable and you will see the savings on your bill. A Home Energy Squad visit is ideal for homeowners who have completed a Home Energy Audit and who need someone to implement some of the energy-saving measures.

Home Energy Squad service includes:

• Compact fluorescent lights (CFLs)
• Programmable thermostat
• Weather stripping for two exterior doors
• High-efficiency showerhead
• Kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators
• Water heater temperature assessment and adjustment
• Refrigerator thermometer
• Water heater insulation

Additional quantities of the above items are available for purchase a la carte, in addition to:

• LED bulbs
• Second programmable thermostat
• Electronics/TV peripheral timer

To qualify, you must be:

• A residential electric customer of Xcel Energy and a natural gas customer of Xcel Energy or CenterPoint Energy in Minnesota
• Located in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and suburbs, and St. Cloud, Northfield, Red Wing and Faribault
