Ground Source Heat Pump - MN

Ground Source Heat Pump Rebates

Cash rebate of $150 per ton for Minnesota customers to make your purchase more affordable.

Overview

Minnesota customers can get a cash rebate of $150 per ton (five ton limit) and use less energy when they purchase and install a qualifying ENERGY STAR® ground source heat pump.

Efficiency Rating Rebate
ENERGY STAR qualified, closed-loop systems, with a minimum 14.1 EER rating, only $150 per ton (five ton limit).

Benefits

  • Use about 30% less energy with a ground source heat pump with the ENERGY STAR label than with a standard ground source heat pump.
  • These units use less energy to operate, and that’s good for the environment.

Who Qualifies

How to Get Started

  1. Find a registered contractor.
  2. Call (1-800-628-2121) or email the Builders Call Line to determine if you need to increase your service capacity to accommodate your new ground source heat pump.
  3. Purchase and install a new, qualifying ground source heat pump between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013.
  4. Download the rebate application or ask for one from your installing contractor.
  5. Customer applications must be postmarked by July 31, 2014 and include a dated invoice. You’ll receive a rebate check in about six weeks.
