Overview
Business customers in Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Dakotas can save on a large scale with Electric Rate Savings. To qualify, you must agree to reduce your electric demand at our request during peak demand.
During periods of peak demand, such as hot summer days, our system may require more power than is normally available. Electric Rate Savings customers help reduce the amount of electricity our customers need which helps us meet demand requirements at critical times.
The more load you agree to control, the more you’ll save. In return for participating, you receive a monthly credit on your demand charges, which could amount to substantial savings for your business.

Benefits
When you use Electric Rate Savings, you can gain tremendous savings all year round on your energy bill. We apply a discount to your controllable demand.
The more load you agree to control, the more you’ll save. Depending on your location and how much of your demand you’re willing to reduce at our request, you can qualify for as much as 40 – 60% savings on annual demand charges.

Current customers on Electric Rate Savings must update their contact information for this year. Complete the appropriate contact form below depending upon if you have a single property or multiple properties enrolled. Submit it to your Xcel Energy account manager or contact the Business Solutions Center at 1-800-481-4700.
Who Qualifies
To qualify, you must be:
- An electric business customer of Xcel Energy in Minnesota, Wisconsin or the Dakotas.
- Able to reduce your electricity usage during peak demand at our request.
