Overview
Minnesota beverage vending businesses can earn rebates and increase customer satisfaction from lowering their energy bills and helping the environment. If you’re a beverage vending machine owner and you purchase qualified beverage vending machines, you can take advantage of our Vending Efficiency rebates.
According to the ENERGY STAR® program, owners who install qualified vending machines can save their customers more than 1,700 kWh/year. Everyone benefits from environmental savings. And for customers seeking greener options from suppliers in their facilities, this is a good first step.
Qualifying machines installed in the facilities of a business electricity customer of Xcel Energy in Minnesota are eligible. Only new ENERGY STAR Tier II beverage or pop machines qualify.

Who Qualifies
To qualify, you must:
- Own the qualifying beverage vending machine(s).
- Have already purchased and installed qualifying machine(s) at facilities of a business electricity customer of Xcel Energy in Minnesota.
- Have purchased and installed only new beverage vending machine(s) that are ENERGY STAR Tier II rated (used machines do not qualify).
How to Get Started
- Purchase qualifying beverage vending machine(s) and install at facilities of a business electricity customer of Xcel Energy in Minnesota.
- Customer, vendor or sales representative can fill out the rebate application. Customer submits application materials:
- Rebate application
- Copy of the appropriate calculator for year of equipment purchased
- For each qualifying machine installed at a customer site, provide a copy of the machine’s purchase invoice and the following installation information:
- Installation date, Installation customer name, Installation address, Installation city, Installation ZIP
- Machine make, model number and quantity of machines per site
- Mail forms to:

Please allow eight weeks for an approved rebate check to arrive.
You can apply for rebates within 24 months from the purchase date on the invoice.
