Custom Efficiency

New Mexico businesses earn rebates on energy-saving custom equipment and processes with our Custom Efficiency program. Lower your operating costs with rebates on a wide variety of electric equipment and process improvements that lead to energy savings.

Get money back for choosing energy-efficient investments that exceed standard options but aren’t covered under our other rebate programs. Rebate amounts vary with the project’s energy savings. The more energy your project saves, the more rebate dollars you earn – up to $400 per kilowatt (kW) of electricity.

All Custom Efficiency projects require preapproval before equipment purchase and installation. We’ve rebated a wide variety of equipment. See Qualifying Equipment for details. If you’re not sure whether your equipment would be considered, just ask us.

With our Custom Efficiency rebates, you can:

• Earn rebates to offset the cost of energy-saving equipment and processes up to $400/kW of electricity saved.
• Apply a wide variety of electric equipment and processes that are not covered under other rebates.
• Lower your operating costs with energy-saving measures.

Note: Rebate amounts vary according to the project’s energy savings.

To qualify, you must:

• Be a business electricity customer of Xcel Energy, Inc. in New Mexico.
• Receive preapproval prior to purchase and installation of your equipment.

Don’t order or install your equipment until you receive preapproval.

We’ve rebated a wide variety of equipment – everything from energy-efficient windows to energy recovery and humidification to elevator modernization (DC to AC).

3. You must receive preapproval prior to purchase and installation of your equipment.
