Small Business Lighting offers enhanced rebates and special services for small and mid-sized businesses with peak demand of 400 kW or less.

Services provided by our lighting consultant, Franklin Energy, include a free lighting audit, recommendations on optimal lighting choices, acting as liaison between you and your vendor and completion of rebate paperwork.

Small Business Lighting offers enhanced rebates and special services for small and mid-sized businesses with peak demand of 400 kW or less. Our lighting consultant, Franklin Energy, will:

• Perform a free lighting audit at your facility
• Make specific recommendations for energy-efficient lighting including cost savings and rebate estimates
• Serve as a liaison between you and your lighting contractor throughout the retrofit process to ensure quality installation (or help you locate a contractor if you don’t have one)
• Complete and submit all rebate paperwork

To qualify, you must:

• Be a small business electricity customer of Xcel Energy in New Mexico.
• Have a peak demand of 400 kW or less.

Qualified equipment and applications for prescriptive rebates include:

• High efficiency fluorescent T8 fixtures – retrofits and lamp reduction (delamping)
• Fluorescent T5 retrofits
• Installing CFL lamps or fixtures
• High-bay fluorescent fixtures
• LED exit signs and
• Occupancy sensors, to name a few

Now, LED Lighting equipment is also eligible including:

• ENERGY STAR® qualified interior, screw-in or pin-based LED lamps – up to 20 watts
• ENERGY STAR qualified interior LED luminaires/downlights – up to 50 watts
• Visit www.energystar.gov/sslpartners to find qualifying equipment
• Exterior LED canopy and soffit fixtures – 25 to 150 watts¹
• Refrigerated LED case lighting for doors of five and six feet¹

¹ ENERGY STAR qualification not required.

Note: Applications and equipment that are not qualified for prescriptive rebates may be eligible for a Custom Efficiency rebate (preapproval is required).

2. Receive a free lighting audit at your facility by Franklin Energy and recommendations on energy-efficient lighting choices.
3. Franklin Energy will serve as a liaison between you and your lighting contractor throughout the retrofit process to ensure quality installation (or help you locate a contractor if you don’t have one).
4. Let Franklin Energy assist you with completion of the rebate paperwork.

To earn cash rebates, you should complete and submit a rebate application for lighting improvement projects invoiced on or after March 15, 2011.

Rebates are still available for projects completed before March 15, 2011 as long as a rebate application is completed and submitted within 12 months of the invoice date.
