Does your home have leaky doors or skimpy insulation? These little things can lead to energy loss and higher energy bills. With  our Home Energy Services program, Xcel Energy partners with local contractors, called Participating Sponsors, who can fix them quickly, efficiently and affordably

Energy saving measures, like sealing leaks, are free. Other improvements are available at reduced prices.

With your energy savings package, you will:

• Get an in-home visit from local efficiency experts
• Receive a free, quick assessment of your home’s energy efficiency
• Get answers to your home improvement questions and have the equipment installed for you
• Immediately begin saving energy and money!

The Home Energy Services crew will:

• Quickly assess your home’s efficiency by conducting a blower door test and a duct blaster test.
• Make the energy saving installations for you– in about two hours or less.
• Test for excess levels of carbon monoxide (CO), if you have gas appliances to ensure your safety.
• Conduct other tests, such as insulation depth and condition, at the time of the visit.

When they’re done, your home will be more efficient and comfortable and you will see the savings on your bill.

A Home Energy Services visit is ideal for homeowners who want to save money and make a real contribution to saving the environment.

Energy saving measures available:

• Free home infiltration testing and repair (includes CO testing)
• Free heating and air conditioning duct testing and sealing
• Attic insulation
• Free high-efficiency showerhead (electric water heater only)
• Attic radiant barrier
• Programmable thermostats
• Air source heat pump with quality install
• High-efficiency central air conditioners with quality install

Low-Income Customers may also receive:

• Ten free spiral compact fluorescent lights (CFLs)
• Refrigerator replacement
• Evaporative cooler installation

Not all contractors have all measures available due to New Mexico licensing and certification rules.

To qualify, you must be a New Mexico residential electric customer of Xcel Energy

To get started, call one of the approved contractors on the Participating Sponsor list (below) and schedule an appointment with the contractor of your choice. You can also visit xcelefficiency.com and choose New Mexico, Residential & Low-Income, and then select Participating Sponsors. (Sponsors work in different areas of the state, so you might need to call more than one.)
