Cash rebate of $150 per ton for Minnesota customers to make your purchase more affordable.
Overview
Minnesota customers can get a cash rebate of $150 per ton (5 ton limit) and use less energy when they purchase and install a qualifying ENERGY STAR® ground source heat pump.

Benefits
- Use about 30% less energy with a ground source heat pump with the ENERGY STAR® label than with a standard ground source heat pump.

Who Qualifies
Xcel Energy customers who receive residential electricity service in Minnesota.
How to Get Started
- Find a registered contractor.
- Purchase and install a new, qualifying ground source heat pump between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012.
- Download the rebate application or ask for one from your installing contractor.
- Customer applications must be postmarked by July 31, 2013 and include a dated invoice. You’ll receive a rebate check in about six weeks.

What equipment is eligible?
- Only closed-loop ground source heat pumps, with a minimum 14.1 EER rating, that is currently listed on the ENERGY STAR website can earn a rebate.
- The unit must include an air cooling application. No pond installations or “pump and dumps”.

The ground source heat pump rebate is not valid with any other Xcel Energy rebate program offer.
Rebates may take up to six weeks to process after the application has been submitted. Rebate applications are processed individually; you will receive one check per application if approved. Please retain a copy of your paperwork.
