Overview
Colorado businesses earn rebates on energy-saving custom equipment and processes with our Custom Efficiency program. Lower your operating costs with rebates on a wide variety of natural gas or electric equipment and process improvements that lead to energy savings.
Get money back for choosing energy-efficient investments that exceed standard options but aren’t covered under our other rebate programs.
Rebate amounts vary with the project’s energy savings. But the more energy your project saves, the more rebate dollars you earn – up to $400 per kilowatt (kW) of electricity and $4 per decatherm (Dth) of gas saved.
All Custom Efficiency projects require preapproval before equipment purchase and installation. We’ve rebated a wide variety of equipment. See Qualifying Equipment for details. If you’re not sure whether your equipment would be considered, just ask us.

Who Qualifies
To qualify, you must:
- Be a business electricity or natural gas customer of Xcel Energy, Inc. in Colorado.
- Receive preapproval prior to purchase and installation of your equipment.
Qualifying Equipment
Don’t order or install your equipment until you receive preapproval.
We’ve rebated a wide variety of equipment -- everything from cooking equipment to LED lights to large cooling towers and many more items.
