Education inspires young minds, opens new doors and lights the way to more promising futures. Xcel Energy Foundation supports math, science and economic education programs for students in kindergarten through college. We are committed to funding programs throughout our service territory, in both urban and rural communities.
In 2008, Xcel Energy Foundation committed $1,247,100 to supporting education across our service territory.
Grants awarded in: 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005 2004, 2003, 2002
Programs in the following areas are preferred:
- Programs that enrich and improve student performance in math and science, in combination with core academic curriculum;
- Establish scholarship endowments focused on mathematics, science, technical or environmental areas of study;
- Community education programs that provide students with economic education and practical business/technical skills to compete effectively in the job market;
- Programs that support district, state and/or national educational standards in math and science; and
- Programs involving participation and partnership among students, educators, business and nonprofit entities, which promote student participation in math and science curriculum.
