Grant application process
Xcel Energy Foundation has a new online grant application system. We are open for the Education and Environment focus area grant round as of January 1st and will be accepting letters of intent through January 18th. See the above grid for the rest of the 2010 schedule.
All applicants, new and returning, will re-register (this means Create a New Account) in our new system one time only. After that, for all returning applications or to check on the status of your application, you will log in with your email address and the password you create.
A significant change in the online system will be final reporting included in the online process. If you receive Xcel Energy funding, you will receive instructions in your grant agreement letter on how to submit the final report online. Except for grants funded prior to January 1, 2010, we will no longer be accepting hard copies of final reports.
Apply online for the grant application.
Notification
- No later than 3 weeks after the deadline for submitting a letter of intent, organizations will be notified whether or not they have been selected to submit a full proposal.
- Full proposals will be due within 3 weeks of notification. Your notification email will contain the deadline.
- Applicants being granted funds from the Xcel Energy Foundation will be required to return a signed tax receipt form, stating that no goods or services have been received in exchange for the grant.
- Organizations also will be required to provide a final report on the grant at the end of their fiscal year, or at the end of the funded program/project through our online system. If you received a grant prior to January 1, 2010, we still require a hard copy final report mailed to us. After this date, final reports should be submitted online only.
