Our products and services differ based on state. Please select your state (or the state you're interested in) from the list to the left.
Why do our products and services differ based on state? Because our business is regulated by state. We have regulated operations in eight Western and Midwestern states. The different regulatory body for each state we serve determines what products and services we deliver in that state.
Project Goals: The installation of 99 kW of solar photovoltaic generation at various state park, regional or area office sites to develop a series of renewable solar energy strategies, prototypes and specifications that would become integral parts of all future, new and renovated DNR facilities.
Project Type: Energy Production
Sponsor: Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
Funding Amount: $894,000
Project Cycle: 3
Project Goals: This project will focus on developing technologies for loss-of-mains detection based on two methods:
Loss-of-mains detection is a significant problem for small-distributed generators, such as small wind power and solar photovoltaic systems. The goal is to develop new technologies that can reduce total energy costs and enable distributed generators to assume more of a grid-system support role.
Project Type: Research and Development
Energy Source: All
Sponsor: Northern Plains Technologies
Funding Amount: $493,608
Project Cycle: 3
Project Goals: This project has been designed to determine the beneficial effect solar photovoltaics has on reducing peak power costs, reducing total kWh production, and the reduction in peak demand requirements. The city of Minneapolis will install a 600 kW photovoltaic facility on the roof of the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Project Type: Energy Production
Sponsor: City of Minneapolis
Funding Amount: $2,000,000
Project Cycle: 3
Project Goals: To increase the market penetration of renewable solar energy through the use of a lightweight, thin-film solar cell by demonstrating a pilot scale manufacturing process.
Project Type: Research and Development
Sponsor: InterPhases Solar
Funding Amount: $1,000,000
Project Cycle: 3
