Employee Involvement

We are proud of our employees who spend countless hours providing leadership and volunteer services to nonprofit organizations in our communities. Likewise, many of our retirees find themselves putting more energy than ever into their favorite causes, applying lifetimes of experience to serve their communities.

Employee Involvement at Xcel Energy can take many forms:  participation in company sponsored programs such as Earth Day, rallying coworkers in our annual United Way campaign; joining with fellow employees to judge school science and math competitions; or serving on a nonprofit board of directors. Xcel Energy employees are active, committed members of the communities where they live and work.

Xcel Energy supports and recognizes employees’ efforts in the community by planning and organizing volunteer events, providing training and assistance in joining boards of directors, and making matching cash contributions to organizations where employees volunteer and contribute financially. In 2009, the Xcel Energy Foundation contributed $657,884 to our communities through our Matching Gifts programs.
