Renewable Energy Standard Compliance Plan

DENVER - Xcel Energy filed its 2010 Renewable Energy Standard Compliance Plan with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) on October 27, 2009. This plan incorporates the October 16, 2009 Commission decision for resource acquisitions from the Company's 2007 Colorado Resources Plan. In addition the Plan projects the addition of up to 257 MW of new On-site solar by 2020. In total, the Plan exceeds the minimum Renewable Energy Standard (RES) approved by the Colorado State Legislature.

Xcel Energy through collaborations with stakeholders also plans a programmatic and transparent pricing structure for the addition of new On-site solar in the Xcel Energy service territory. This new pricing structure will enable Xcel Energy to help the solar market in Colorado continue in stable and sustainable fashion.

The 2010 plan does not ask the CPUC for any changes to the Renewable Energy Standard Adjustment (RESA) which is currently set at the legislatively approved 2% of customers electricity bills.
