In Colorado, our operating utility Public Service Company of Colorado is engaged primarily in the generation, purchase, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity and the purchase, transportation, distribution and sale of natural gas to retail customers. The company also transports customer-owned natural gas. The Colorado Public Utilities Commission regulates the company for state issues, and federal regulatory agencies oversee other aspects of its operations.
Xcel Energy adjusts its Electric Commodity Adjustment (ECA) quarterly to reflect the cost of energy utilized to supply electric service.

Xcel Energy adjusts natural gas prices quarterly to reflect the market price of the commodity. All of these costs are passed through to you on a dollar-for-dollar basis through our Gas Cost Adjustment that has been approved by the Public Utilities Commission of the State of Colorado. We hope that by providing you this information each quarter, you will be better able to budget and adjust your energy usage. The information provided in the PDF link below shows only the prices that are changing this quarter and the average effect of those changes. It doesn't show the costs that are not changing.
